India’s envoy to Nepal Rae superannuates, leaving DCM Vinay Kumar in charge for now

Kathmandu, February 28

Outgoing ambassador of India to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, called on Prime Minister Prachanda in Baluwatar on Tuesday.

It was Rae’s farewall call.

Deputy Chief of Mission Binaya Kumar will work as India’s acting ambassador to Nepal until the government of India appoints a successor.

According to a source at the Embassy of India in Nepal, appointment of new ambassador may take a month.

Vinay Kumar (48) entered India’s foreign service in 1992. He has worked in Indian missions in Taskent, Ottawa and Tehran.
