Weather to gradually improve across Nepal from today as cyclone Montha weakens

Kathmandu, November 2

The weather across the country, which had been affected by Cyclone ‘Montha’ originating from the Bay of Bengal, is gradually improving.

Meteorologists have predicted further improvement in weather conditions from today as the cyclone’s impact continues to weaken. However, there still remains a chance of rainfall in some areas.

Due to the influence of westerly winds and a low-pressure system formed over the Arabian Sea, cloudy conditions are persisting.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in a few hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. While some hilly regions may remain partly cloudy, the rest of the country is expected to experience mostly clear weather today.

In the afternoon, the weather will generally be cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Madhes and other provinces, and mostly clear elsewhere. Similarly, tonight, the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will remain partly cloudy, while the rest of the provinces will see mostly clear skies.

The department has also forecast light rain and snowfall in one or two places of the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
