Kathmandu, October 30
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that various parts of the country are likely to experience rainfall due to the partial influence of the western wind and Cyclone ‘Motha’.
According to the department, the western wind is currently active over Nepal, while a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea and Cyclone ‘Motha’, which has developed over the Bay of Bengal, are partially affecting the country.
On Thursday afternoon, most hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces are expected to remain mostly cloudy, while the Tarai region will experience partly cloudy conditions. Moderate rainfall is likely in many areas of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces. There is also a possibility of rain and snowfall in some hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
The department has forecast light rainfall in some areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. It has also indicated that moderate snowfall may occur in certain parts of the country’s high hilly and mountainous regions. The department has urged travelers heading to areas expecting rain and snowfall, as well as farmers in those regions, to exercise caution.
