Kathmandu, April 26

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected 4.1 per cent of the economic growth in Nepal this fiscal year that ends in mid-July 2022.

This projection is slightly higher than the recent projections of the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank, which stood at 3.7 per cent and 3.9 per cent respectively.

All these projections, however, are much lower than the government’s 7 per cent target.

Overall, the IMF says economic growth in Asia and the Pacific is poised to slow more than previously estimated this year amid headwinds from the war in Ukraine, a resurgent pandemic, and tightening global financial conditions.
