Birgunj, October 17

Hundreds of cadres of Nepal Democratic Forum, which has been merged with the Nepali Congress on Monday, have said they are not happy with party Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar’s merger decision.

They say they will revolt against the decision and will not integrate with lower committees of Nepali Congress.

Some have accused Gachhadar of betraying Madheshis.

Province 2 coordinator of the party and Dhanusha district chairman, Uma Shankar Agariya, says he will not join the Congress party. Meanwhile, influential leaders of the party in the district including Abdul Shekh, Jaya Narayan Mandal and Rukmani Devi Mandal are joining the Upendra Yadav-led Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal today.

Sarlahi district chairman Ramwali Raya Yadav also says his cadres will not join the Congress party. Discussions are underway in the district about next move, he informs.

Likewise, Saptari district chairman Shailesh Chaudhary says he knew about the unification from media and will join the Congress only if the party addresses issues of Madhesh.

Leaders of Rautahat and Bara districts also shared similar opinions.

Parsa district chairman Suresh Gupta, however, says he supports the unification saying the merger of democratic forces is the need of the hour.
