Kathmandu, September 12
The House of Representatives has been adjourned until Tuesday owing to the obstruction of the CPN-UML.
Before that, the speaker will convene a meeting of top leaders of all parties in the House to discuss the obstruction and find ways to end that. The meeting will take place on Monday afternoon, informs the speaker’s press advisor Shreedhar Neupane.
Earlier today, lawmakers of the main opposition party had obstructed the meeting proceeding chanting against the speaker as soon as the meeting began at 1. This was the third consecutive day that the party had protested.
The UML has been complaining Sapkota did not take action against 14 lawmakers who had quit the UML to form the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led CPN-United Socialist.
Amid the obstruction, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma had presented the revised annual budget plan for the fiscal year 2021/22 on Friday.
