The doctors attending Oli say he is likely to be discharged from the hospital after around one week. Dr Prem Raj Gyawali, the leader of the surgical team assigned for Oli, a patient can leave the hospital after five to seven days after the transplant if the transplant is successful.

A distant relative of Oli, who is donating a kidney to the prime minister, was also admitted to the hospital yesterday.

Oli looked hopeful as he reached the hospital premises yesterday. He waved the photographers and journalists waiting for him, with a smile.

Before leaving the residence in Baluwatar, Oli’s secretariat posted a video message by the prime minister, in which he has expressed his confidence that the surgery would give him more courage and energy in the next days ahead. He said he should not leave all the dreams that he has shown to the people halfway.

Oli claimed that he had already directed concerned officials in the government to carry out day-to-day functions of the government including those necessary for controlling the potential spread of novel coronavirus infection in Nepal.
