Kathmandu, August 26

Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has urged people to avoid travel along the Prithvi Highway, Galchhi–Nuwakot–Rasuwа–Syafrubesi road and Muglin–Narayangadh road due to the impact of flooding in the Bhote Koshi River.

Minister Gurung issued an emergency public notice and asked people to contact the toll-free number 1234 in case of an emergency.

As a large volume of floodwater has entered the area, he urged residents living along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli riverbanks, up to Muglin, to remain on high alert until further notice.

Families living in riverbank areas of the high-risk districts of Rasuwa, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan and Nuwakot have been urged to stay in safe locations.

The minister also asked people to contact the authorities if search and rescue operations or any other assistance is required.
