Humla, January 4
Heavy snowfall has hit the daily life of Humla and other neighbouring districts very hard in the Karnali province.
The snowfall that started on Sunday evening is still continued, and it has affected flights from and to Simkot, the district headquarters of Humla, according to officials.
Consequently, hundreds of passengers have been left stranded there.
The Simkot Airport chief Bishnu Adhikari says two aircraft of Tara Air have been stuck in the airport due to the bad weather. An aircraft was called to repair another aeroplane stuck there due to a technical glitch in its battery.
The farmers, however, are happy with the snowfall, hoping it would benefit the winter crops.
