Former King Gyanendra Shah has recovered from Covid-19 after around three weeks of treatment, informs the Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu.

The former royal couple had contracted Covid-19 after a visit to a religious function in India in April.

Gyanendra’s health was said to be normal although he was kept on oxygen support. In addition, Komal had been kept in the intensive care unit of the hospital for several days and she had undergone plasma therapy also.

But, now, the hospital says Gyanendra has recently tested negative for the virus whereas Komal has also been taken back from the ICU. Her further treatment is underway.

The hospital says she is improving and the doctors have gradually decreased the amount of oxygen given to her.

Their only daughter Prerana had also tested positive for the virus, but she has already recovered.
