Kathmandu, March 24

The government has called on traders and businesspersons not to give any kind of support including donations to the group led by Maoist leader Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ as the government recently banned its activities.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a statement on Sunday, warning the businesspersons providing physical or financial support to the ‘terrorist’ group would be punished.

The statement has clarified that persons and institutions supporting the illegal activities would be considered a part of the terrorist group.

Meanwhile, the government has requested anyone facing demands for money and other support from the group to report the case to police.

It has been learned that the government made the statement after the group put pressure on some contractors of Kathmandu Valley to give ‘donations’ to it.
