Kathmandu, March 26
The government is preparing to press organised crime charges against a key CPN (Chand) leader arrested on Sunday evening.
Ghanashyam Shrestha (Pushkar), who was the group’s Koshi in-charge, will also face charges related to the illegal possession of weapons. Shrestha and another leader Madhav Gautam were arrested in Morang as they were preparing to conduct training for local cadres.
Police have recovered, some cash, mobile phones, documents and sim cards from the duo. Sunsari police spokesperson Gyanendra Phuyal said the two are being kept in Dharan and the court has ordered authorities to remand them until the investigation is completed.
