Kathmandu, August 12

Exactly one week after per-tola price of gold crossed Rs 100,000-mark in the Nepali market, the bullion market has seen another record-breaking development, this time the biggest fall, on Wednesday.

The per-told price of the precious yellow metal fell by Rs 6,000 from Tuesday to Wednesday and this is the biggest decrease recorded in history, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association. Accordingly, the price has come down to Rs 95,400 from Rs 101,400 per tola.

Jewellers assume the plummet is a result of hopes developed in the international market after Russia’s claim of developing the first vaccine against coronavirus.
