Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formed an Emergency Response Team (ERT) to coordinate the search and rescue of foreign nationals missing after the flooding of the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.
The ministry said on Thursday that it had received reports that several foreign nationals were among those missing following the flood in the northern district.
The ERT will serve as the ministry’s central coordinating body for the search and rescue of foreign nationals affected by the flood, verification of information and the provision of consular assistance.
According to the ministry, the team will collect information about foreign nationals affected or missing in the disaster, coordinate with relevant authorities and facilitate the sharing of necessary information with their families and diplomatic missions.
The ministry has urged foreign diplomatic missions, international organisations, families of missing people and the general public to share any information about foreign nationals affected or missing in the Rasuwa flood.
Information can be provided to the ERT through its emergency hotlines or WhatsApp numbers 9744441227 and 9744441228.
