At least 18 people have died and 256 others have been injured during protests staged by Gen-Z youths.
According to the Ministry of Health, 16 people were killed in Kathmandu while several youths were injured in protests outside the Valley.
The demonstrations erupted on Monday in Kathmandu and various districts across the country against the internet shutdown and the ruling system.
Despite a curfew in Kathmandu, protesters refused to leave the streets. As demonstrators began entering the Federal Parliament building, security forces used excessive force in the Baneshwor area, causing the death toll and injuries to rise sharply. Clashes have also been reported in Pokhara, Jhapa, Morang, and other districts.
The Ministry of Health said three people died at Civil Hospital, where 100 injured are undergoing treatment. Fifteen critically injured patients have been referred from Civil Hospital to Trauma Center and Bir Hospital. Bir Hospital is currently treating six injured individuals.
At Trauma Center, eight deaths have been recorded, and 49 others are receiving treatment. The ministry stated that a disaster plan has been activated there.
Everest Hospital reported three deaths and 34 injuries, seven of them in critical condition. Patan Academy of Health Sciences is treating four injured, while Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital (KMC) confirmed two deaths and is treating 32 injured. Six critically injured patients at KMC require surgery.
Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital reported one death and 18 injured under treatment. Norvic International Hospital is treating three injured.
Outside the Valley, Gandaki Hospital in Pokhara is treating one injured, Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences has two, and Damak in Jhapa has seven injured patients.
Meanwhile, two protesters were recently killed in Itahari after being shot by police.
