Solukhumbu, November 13
A French national trekking in the Everest region has been found dead in Lobuche of Solukhumbu district. The trekker has been identified as 72-year-old Armoud Hibach. He was found dead in his room at the National Park Hotel on Tuesday.
Inspector Uttam Karki of the District Police Office said that Hibach was found dead in his hotel room at 6:45 am on Tuesday. His body was airlifted on an Air Dynasty helicopter to Kathmandu and has been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for autopsy. Inspector Karki said that a police team from the area conducted a preliminary investigation.
Hibach is the fourth tourist to have died in the Khumbu region this year. Police say that they might have died due to altitude sickness.
