Free dialysis service in Myagdi district headquarters

Regular dialysis service is to be rendered free of cost to kidney patients at Beni Hospital in the headquarters of Myagdi district.

The hospital will begin the service from March 14 after the Gandaki Provincial Minister for Social Development provided necessary equipment along with the budget for the service delivery.

Bel Bahadur Katwal, the chair of Beni Hospital Management Committee, says a haemodialysis unit has been set up at the hospital with six machines. In order to regularise the service, the state government has provided four machines while an organisations of Nepalis living abroad has aided two machines, he shares. Katwal further informes that human resource including doctors, staff nurses, and assistant health workers have been already managed at the unit.

Three beds will be brought into operation in the first phase, he says. Arrangement has been made in a way to provide daily dialysis services to 12 patients in two shifts, he further shares. The hospital, however, has a plan to deliver service three times a day after six months as per the need.

Provincial Minister for Social Development Naradevi Pun is scheduled to inaugurate the service.
