Mid-Regional Police Office Hetaunda has suspended four police officers, including constable at the Kavahi Goth Police Station Tej Bahadur Dhakal, and three police officers — Pramod Kumar Yadav, Bunil Mahato and Surendra Prasad Sah — as part of a probe into the abduction of Birgunj-based industrialist Suresh Kedia.

There are suspicions that personnel from Kavahi Goth did not do enough to intercept the vehicle that abductors had used to take Kedia into Motihari of India after abducting him in Bara of Nepal. As a result, it is suspected, the criminals executed their plan with relative ease.

The police office has already suspended Hem Raj Neupane, Armed Police Force inspector at the Telkuwa security base, and Chandra Shumsher Kunwar, APF sub-inspector at the Kavahi Goth border outpost, among others, in connection with the probe.

The office is learnt to have suspended the police officials in connection with a report that a team looking into the abduction had submitted. A team of APF’s Additional Inspector General Krishna Kumar Tamang and Nepal Police’s AIG Kedar Saud had prepared and submitted the report after probing the abduction.
