3 died in Nijgadh workshop blast

Kathmandu, February 27

The death toll in the explosion of a suspicious object in Nijgadh of Bara has reached three. Other three injured people are being treated.

An explosion occurred in Rohit Workshop in Nijgadh Municipality 7, during gas welding on Monday.

Ritu Rajat of Birgunj-9, who was injured in the blast, died on Tuesday morning during treatment at the Vayodha Hospital. The other two who died were Resham Magar and Rakesh Jaiswal from India.

Surya Bahadur Thapa from Nijgadh is being treated at the Community Maternity Hospital, while Firod Dewan from Birgunj and Arvin Sah from India are being treated at Vayodha Hospital.

According to the Bara police, Ramesh Jaiswal from India and Tika Ram Pakhrin from Nijgadh who bought junk were arrested during the investigation of the incident.
