Syangja, August 11
Basanta Shrestha, a former ward chair of ward number 9 in Waling Municipality of Syangja has been found dead.
Shrestha was found dead on the road near Waling-13 along the Siddartha Highway, informed DSP Ravindra Khanal.
Khanal said the police also found a scooter (Ga 16 Pa 5469) near his body along with an opened bottle of highly poisonous pesticide.
Shrestha’s body has been taken to a nearby hospital for postmortem. Police say they are investigating the case further.
Fifty-five-year-old Shrestha was elected ward chair of Walling – 9 in the 2017 local elections.
