Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal is leaving for New York on Sunday evening to participate in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
Khanal and a Nepali delegation are scheduled to depart for New York at 6 pm on Sunday, according to his press adviser Jagadishwar Pandey.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khanal will participate in various high-level meetings and ministerial gatherings during the high-level segment of the General Assembly.
He is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and other senior officials during his visit.
Prime Minister Balen Shah will lead a 14-member Nepali delegation to the United States, departing on September 22. He is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on September 24.
The high-level segment of the 81st UN General Assembly is bringing together world leaders and senior government representatives for discussions on major international issues.
