Foreign Minister cuts his international trip short

Pradeep Gyawali

Kathmandu, November 29

Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has returned to Kathmandu on Friday after cutting short his visit to Russia and Serbia.

He said that he had to cut short his visit due to domestic developments. Minister Gyawali, however, did not clarify what those developments were.

Earlier, Gyawali was scheduled to come to Kathmandu on Sunday. He also had a plan to meet the president of Serbia among other officials. However, Gyawali informed that he met foreign ministers of both the countries, during which matters relating to bilateral interest and mutual concerns were discussed.

He added that he talked with the Russian Foreign Minister regarding Russia’s investment and assistance in Nepal’s tourism, agriculture and hydropower sectors. The minister, on behalf of President Bidya Devi Bhandari, has also extended an invitation to Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Nepal.
