Kathmandu, August 18
The government will now pay salaries every 15 days to employees working in all offices under the federal government.
The Office of the Financial Comptroller General informed all Treasury and Accounts Controller Offices, the Pension Management Office, and the Kumari Chowk and Central Tahasil Office about the provision through a letter.
The Ministry of Finance had decided in Baisakh to introduce semi-monthly salary payments for employees working under federal government agencies. However, the decision had not been implemented because the necessary system had not yet been developed.
The office decided on August 17 to make salary payments every 15 days after the completion of each 15 days. Allowances will also be paid on a semi-monthly basis.
The office has instructed the Treasury and Accounts Controller Offices to make arrangements for such payments when federal agencies within their jurisdictions request the release of funds.
The government initially launched the programme at the Ministry of Finance. Although it was planned to expand the system to all federal agencies from the current fiscal year, implementation was delayed by one month.
