The Ministry of Home Affairs has stated that all preparations have been completed for the House of Representatives Elections scheduled for Thursday, March 5.
The ministry confirmed this after holding a virtual meeting on Wednesday morning with the Chief District Officers (CDOs) of all 77 districts, reviewing election security and overall management arrangements.
The virtual meeting, chaired by Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha and attended by senior officials of the ministry along with the CDOs of all 77 districts, took stock of election preparations and security management across the country.
According to Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry, Rama Acharya, the nearly three-hour meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs focused on election preparedness, security arrangements, and related issues.
She said that during the discussion, CDOs from all districts informed her that all election preparations had been completed and that the security situation remained normal.
The meeting also discussed district-level preparedness, the current situation, and the coordination required from the central level. The participants reviewed the law and order situation, precautions to be taken on election day, and security sensitivities, reaching an understanding on strategies to be adopted.
Home Secretary Shrestha instructed the Chief District Officers to ensure strong and effective election security. During the meeting, CDOs from all districts reported that security personnel, staff, and election materials had reached the respective polling stations.
