Eight injured in Dang explosion

 

Kathmandu, November 28

At least eight people are reported injured in an explosion in Tulsipur, Dang on Tuesday evening.

According to police, two of the injured have been rushed to Nepalgunj for further treatment. Authorities at the scene said an unidentified person hurled an improvised explosive device near an area where an election rally was taking place and ran away.

Police have intensified security in the area following the incident.

Several top Nepali Congress leaders, including Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba are in Ghorahi, Dang to attend an election rally. The incident site is around 23 km away from Ghorahi.

The Congress leaders are due to leave for Kathmandu on Tuesday night.
