Each of the families whose members have died in a devastating landslide in Lidi, Jugal rural municipality-2, on Friday morning will receive Rs 100,000 from the government as a support to the family.
Whereas 38 persons had gone missing, 18 of them have been found dead in the incident by Saturday evening. The rest 20 are still missing.
A meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee decided to provide Rs 100,000 to each of the bereaving families. Likewise, the meeting also decided to give Rs 25,000 immediately to each of the families for the last rights of the victims, according to Jugal rural municipality’s chairman Hom Narayan Shrestha.
Shrestha says the meeting also decided to provide free education to the children who have lost both of the parents up to the 12th grade.
