Kathmandu, May 19
Medical businessman Durga Prasai has been arrested. He was arrested in Birgunj. According to police sources, he was detained from the Diyalo Hotel in Birgunj.
Police arrested him, citing “orders from above.” Although police sources confirmed his arrest, they said they were not aware of the specific charge on which he was detained.
Prasai, who also serves as the coordinator of the “Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizens Protection Grand Campaign Nepal,” had arrived in Birgunj via Simara Airport on Monday.
He had gone there to attend a programme scheduled for Tuesday in Birgunj.
While at the airport, he had also spoken to journalists. He made various critical remarks about the current government and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmakers.
