Kathmandu, October 5
Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital’s senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC is resuming his indefinite hunger strike today. Earlier last week, he had postponed citing Dashain celebrations.
Dr KC is beginning the fast-unto-death demanding that Parliament pass the Medical Education Bill in line with suggestions extended by a panel headed by Kedar Bhakta Mathema, and the government implement past pacts signed with him
The surgeon has said his team did not hold any talk with the government regarding addressing his demands, therefore he will resume the strike today as announced earlier.
Before this, Dr KC has staged 12 indefinite fast-unto-deaths in past few years putting forward almost similar demands.
