Doti: Four killed in midnight house collapse

Four members of a family have died after their house collapsed in Aadarsha rural municipality-1 of Doti in the Sudurpaschim province, at around 1 am in the wee hours of Tuesday. Five others sustained injuries in the incident.

Local Govinda Parki, also the chairman of the Nepal Communist Party’s Aadarsha village committee, says Bishna BK, and her three children–Paras (son, 12), Sirjana (daughter, 8), and Jenisa (daughter, 8), residents of Banjhkakani Khalgada, Adarsha-1, died in the incident.

Bishna’s husband Loge, his mother Tana, and a daughter of Loge and Bishna have sustained injuries. Likewise, Bishna’s mother and brother, who were there as family guests, are injured. After primary treatment at a local health facility, the injured have been taken to the district headquarters for further treatment.

DSP Indra Malla of the District Police Office the security personnel have gone to the incident site and further investigation is underway.

“So far, we have been reported that they had a three-storey house. The members tried to escape after it began to collapse, but they could not.”
