The discussion on the government’s policy and programme for the upcoming fiscal year has concluded in the House of Representatives.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli responded to queries raised during the deliberations in Sunday’s meeting of the lower house, marking the end of the discussion.
The House is now preparing to vote on amendment proposals submitted by lawmakers from various political parties regarding the government’s annual policy and programme.
President Ramchandra Paudel had presented the policy and programme for fiscal year 2082/83 BS (2025/26) in a joint session of the House of Representatives and National Assembly on April 2.
Deliberations on the policy and programme had begun on April 5. A discussion on the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill for the next fiscal year is scheduled to begin on May 29.
According to Nepal’s Constitution, the government must present the Appropriation Bill (annual budget) in a joint session of the Federal Parliament on Jestha 15 each year.
