Kathmandu, October 13

The Supreme Court has received a writ petition that demands nominations for the House of Representatives elections of nice controversial persons including Bijaya Gachhadar and Bikram Pandey be cancelled.

Advocate Anil Acharya has demanded the cancellation of nominations of Bijaya Gachhadar, Bikram Pandey, Govinda Raj Joshi, Prabhu Sah, Sarita Giri, Yuddha Bikram Tamang aka DB Tamang, Laxmi Mahato and Rewat Raj Puri aka Gagan.

Whereas some of these candidates are accused or convicted of corruption, some others were accused or convicted of criminal cases, according to the petition. Likewise, Sarita Giri is ineligible to fight as she made anti-nationalistic remarks about Nepal’s new political map.

The court has scheduled the preliminary hearing of the case for coming Sunday.
