Dispelling rumours that he had gone ‘underground’ after returning from his recent trip to New Delhi, former king Gyanendra Shah emerged on the banks of the Trishuli for rafting, with family members in tow.

Chandra Bahadur Dahal, president of the Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies, said the former royals took to rafting in the swirling waters of the Trishuli. Dahal guided the former king and his family through the swirling waters.

The former king and other royal family members took wefie with youngsters on the Trishuli banks.

Rafting has been attracting members of the general public as well as the world’s rich and famous people. Some days ago, Prince Harry of the United Kingdom had taken to rafting in the Karnali river.

Though nothing revolutionary, the ‘underground’ former king appearing aboveground was an interesting act, given the way he did it.
