Death toll reaches 188 in floods and landslides, 41 still missing

The death toll from floods, landslides, and inundation triggered by continuous rainfall has reached 188, with 41 people still missing.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 35 passengers died in a landslide at the Jhaple Khola area near Nagdhunga in Kathmandu.

The latest data released this morning by the Ministry indicates that 79 deaths occurred in the Kathmandu Valley, 85 in other districts of the Bagmati Province, 21 in Koshi Province, and three in Madhesh Province.

Among the missing, 20 are from the Kathmandu Valley, 11 from Bagmati, seven from Koshi, two from Lumbini, and one from Madhesh.

Additionally, 45 injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment. Nationwide, 1,327 houses have been damaged, and 19 roads, including highways, have been destroyed.

The Ministry of Home Affairs reported that 3,654 people have been successfully rescued.
