Darchula, June 23
A woman died when her husband allegedly set the house she was in on fire in Bhainsimela, Naugada Rural Municipality-2 of Darchula district of farwestern Nepal on Saturday night.
The victim has been identified as Bindra Badal. Her husband Sher Bahadur, 30, burned the house under the influence of alcohol, according to a preliminary police investigation.
The District Police Office says Sher Bahadur’s parents and three kids also used to live in the same house. But no one else is hurt.
“We have launched an investigation into why Brinda only died,” according to a police officer.
Sher Bahadur has been arrested following the case. Police are also interrogating other family members.
