Kathmandu, September 13

Daayitwa, a policy research NGO, organised training on economic governance and leadership development for mayors and deputy mayors, chairperson, vice-chairperson and senior officials of 11 municipalities across five provinces of Nepal.

The organisation says it was a part of the Daayitwa Nepal Public Administration Fellowship 2021, through which 15 Daayitwa fellows are working with 11 municipalities for three months in research, implementation and formulation of local policies and programmes.

The one-day virtual event was held on Friday.

This capacity-building training is expected to strengthen the policy leadership capacity of the local governments in addressing issues related to the public interest, effective municipal governance, civic engagement and consultation in different stages of policymaking at the subnational level, the organisation says.

Daayitwa Nepal Public Administration Fellowship (DNPAF) 2021 is a part of the Civil Society: Mutual Accountability Project, supported by the United States Agency for International Development- USAID and implemented by FHI 360.
