Daayitwa selects Innovation Leaders to campaign on youth employment challenges

Thirty innovation leaders will work with Daayitwa for the Yuwa Aaja Campaign that aims to enhance the innovation and leadership capability of youth to help them advocate for progressive social change and favourable policy reforms on youth employment issues in Nepal.

Yuwa Aaja, a three-year national campaign of the Daayitwa Movement, supported by UK Aid and organised in collaboration with ILO aims to promote youth employment by understanding key issues of youth employment, supporting youth to lead evidence-based policy and social reforms and promoting multi-stakeholder knowledge-sharing.

According to the organisers, the campaign was launched on April 10 at Hotel Himalaya, Kupondole among leading change-agents from public, private, and social sectors as well as international development communities.

Over 150 applications were received at the local, provincial, and federal levels; out of which 30 innovation leaders have been selected by a jury comprised of esteemed individuals from various sectors.

The selected 30 Innovation Leaders will lead campaigns to advocate for critical domestic youth employment issues. For this, they will be given a six-day leadership course designed at Harvard University through Nepal Leadership Academy. The Campaign will conclude with a National Youth Summit later this year.
