Kathmandu, June 12
Soon after the lockdown in both Nepal and India were loosened, the halted trade between the two countries has resumed.
According to Nepal’s Department of Customs Director-General, Suman Dahal, there has been an estimated Rs 2.4 billion of business, in comparison to the starting weeks of lockdown that saw the business of Rs 500-600 million per day.
Before the lockdown, the customs points used to see a business of NRs 5 billion a day, Dahal informs.
On Thursday alone, the Biratnagar checkpoint saw numerous load-carrying vehicles ready to enter Nepal from India.
