Kathmandu, October 20
CPN Masal has supported efforts aimed at passing an impeachment motion against CIAA Chief Commissioner Lok Man Singh Karki through the Parliament.
In a press release, party General Secretary Mohan Bikram Singh expressed solidarity with the motion registered in the Parliament for impeaching Karki.
The party noted that it had protested against Karki’s appointment as CIAA chief as he had played a role in suppressing Janaandolan II and the Rayamajhi Commission had deemed him unfit for appointment in constitutional positions.
CIAA Karki’s conduct was unbecoming, the party said, noting that he had created obstructions in the Supreme Court’s effort to serve a summons on him. This shows he is incapable of holding onto the position of CIAA chief, it said.
Masal appealed all lawmakers to endorse the impeachment motion against Karki.
