The Supreme Court has told the government to take Covid-19 vaccines to households if anyone is unable to access a vaccination centre due to age, disability or other health reasons.

A single bench of Justice Prakash Kumar Dhungana issued an interim order on Friday telling the government to go to the households to vaccinate senior citizens, those unable to walk, patients with chronic diseases and people with disabilities.

Hearing a writ petition filed by advocate Prabesh KC, the bench said the government should ensure equal access of every citizen to the right to health services as per the constitution whereas senior citizens among other needy groups need to be given special protection and social security by the state.
