After recent efforts to solve the issue through talks did not produce any result, veteran singer Shambhu Rai has filed a complaint against singer Prakash Saput claiming he ‘stole’ Rai’s music to produce his popular song, Galbandi.
Rai registered the copyright infringement complaint at Nepal Copyright Registrar’s Office recently.
“Yes, I filed the complaint. This is an intellectual property issue,” Rai says, “Now, let the law decide.”
He, however, maintains that conversations are ongoing between the two sides, but an agreement is still elusive.
“This is a fight for existence. I am searching my existence,” Rai says.
Just a few days ago, Saput had sent a letter to Rai, claiming he had not heard Rai’s music which Rai claims to be original before composing Galbandi.
