
Kathmandu, March 6
Nepali Congress candidate Yogesh Gauchan Thakali is set to win the House of Representatives election in Mustang.
With 3,307 votes, Gauchan’s victory has been confirmed after the completion of vote counting. However, the Office of the Chief Returning Officer has yet to make the official announcement.
CPN-UML candidate Indradhara Bista secured 1,806 votes. Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Adhitiya Chandra Thakali received 759 votes.
Similarly, Rastriya Prajatantra Party candidate Kamala Lalchan obtained 161 votes, while Nepal Communist Party candidate Ngutuk Gurung received 151 votes.
Gauchan had also been elected in the 2022 House of Representatives election.
Out of 11,328 registered voters in Mustang, a total of 6,388 votes were cast. According to the Election Officer’s office, 107 votes were declared invalid.
