Kathmandu, July 24

A child who fell into a hole after the Samakushi Khola swelled up on Sunday remains missing.

Bidhan Ale Magar, 13, went missing on Sunday evening when he was playing on the road.

Police are still looking for the child. Nepal Police, Armed Police, and Disaster Management have mobilised and are actively engaged in the search operation to locate Magar.

In Kathmandu, heavy rains on Sunday resulted in the flooding of small rivers. This natural disaster had a significant impact on people’s lives, as the floodwaters entered houses in areas like Samakhusi, Ranibari, and other nearby regions. The situation has caused considerable disruption and hardship for the affected residents.

Flash floods are prevalent during the monsoon in Kathmandu. In 2021, a 10-year-old boy died after falling into a sewage passing into a flooded stream in Kapan of Kathmandu.
