Budhi Gandaki flood sweeps away bridge connecting Gorkha and Dhading

A motorable bridge connecting Aarughat in Gorkha with Dhading has been swept away by a massive flood in the Budhi Gandaki River.

The bridge was washed away by the flood that struck the river on Sunday morning, said Anil Shrestha, inspector at the Area Police Office in Aarughat.

The flood also swept away several other bridges in the region, including an old suspension bridge connecting Nyakchet and Sirdibas in Ward 3 of Chumnubri Rural Municipality.

A suspension bridge linking Machhikhola in Ward 5 of Dharche Rural Municipality with Kerauja was also destroyed.

Additionally, an iron concrete bridge at Soti connecting Wards 2 and 3 of Aarughat Rural Municipality was swept away.
