Students have brought vehicular movement along the BP Highway to a grinding halt after two students from the Sindhuli Multiple College were hit by a speeding vehicle on Wednesday morning.
Students claim that a Tata Sumo hit Rojina Karki and Manita Thapa at Kamalamai, Dhungebas and ran away. Both sustain injuries.
Karki is critically injured and has been sent to Kathmandu for treatment while Thapa is being treated at Sindhuli Hospital.
Agitating students hit the street and threw the vehicular movement out of gear calling for action against the guilty and arrangement of treatment to the injured students.
Chakra Bahadur Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP) at District Police Office Sindhuli, said that they have apprehended the driver and impounded the vehicle (Ba 3 Cha 6751).
With traffic brought to a halt, vehicles from heading to the Terai districts from Kathmandu have been put on hold in Sindhuli.
