Bodies of five Chilime Hydropower employees handed over to families

The bodies of five employees who were trapped at the Chilime Hydropower Station have been handed over to their respective families.

Chilime Hydropower Company Managing Director Baburaja Maharjan said the bodies of engineer Santosh Pandey, electrical supervisor Minraj Moktan, security guards Shyam Bahadur Thapa Magar and Tilak Bahadur Thapa Magar, and Nepal Electricity Authority employee Lakpa Tamang were identified and handed over to their families.

They were found dead on Wednesday in the control room area, located about 150 metres inside the tunnel from its outer section. They had been trapped at the power station after flooding in the Bhotekoshi River.

According to Maharjan, the bodies found inside the power station were transported to Nuwakot by a Nepal Army helicopter before being handed over to their families.
