‘Birthday boy’, Minister Bhattarai donates Rs 50,000 to Birgunj acid attack survivor

Kathmandu, September 6

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai on Sunday has donated Rs 50,000 to Muskan Khatun, a teenage girl who had survived an acid attack exactly on this day last year.

Inviting Khatun to his office in Kathmandu today, Bhattarai donated the amount so as support her education, informs his secretariat. Bhattarai made the donation to her on the occasion of his birthday, it has been learned.

On the occasion, Bhattarai wished Khatun would achieve her aim of becoming a medical doctor in the future. He suggested she keep that money in a bank account now so that it would be useful for her higher studies.

Just a few days ago, Prime Minister Khatun had also meet Khatun, assuring her support for education.

The survivor is currently studying in the ninth grade.
