Kathmandu, May 18
Police in Biratnagar of Morang on Monday arrested a woman on the charge of murdering her own husband so as to save her illicit extramarital affair.
Mina Shrestha Dulal was arrested for allegedly murdering Devi Prasad Dulal. Along with her, the woman’s ‘boyfriend’ Brahmadev Sah has also been arrested.
The woman had rushed her husband, 33, to Golden Hospital in the city in the wee hours on Sunday claiming he fell unconscious. He was declared dead before the sunrise yesterday.
However, the police investigation revealed that the woman’s claim was false, and she strangled him using a rope. She had allegedly plotted the murder after the husband came to know about the relationship with Sah a few days ago.
Sah used to work at a pharmacy run by Dulal. Dulal, a permanent resident of Khanar in the neighbouring Sunsari district, was living in Biratnagar for the past few years.
Further investigation is underway.
