Kathmandu, July 10
ANNISU-Revolutionary, the student wing of the Biplav-led CPN-Maoist, handed over a seven-point memorandum to Kathmandu Chief District Officer Ram Krishna Subedi.
A team under Prakash Adhikari, chair of the student wing’s Kathmandu district committee, submitted the memorandum to CDO Subedi.
Asked to make public his commitment vis-a-vis the demands, Subedi said making commitments is not a part of his duties and responsibilties. This angered student leaders and they asked Subedi not to make irresponsbile remarks.
The student wing has demanded an end to police intervention in educational institutes, end to gender-based violence, protection of children, protection of educational institutions’ public property, scientific adjustment of transport fares and guarantee of discount to students on transport fares.
