Biplav Maoists strike again, Kathmandu Valley feels the pain

Life in the Kathmandu Valley got hit on Sunday due to a nationwide strike that Biplav-led CPN-Maoist had announced in its bid to press for food security. With most of the public vehicles staying out of roads, people had a hard time reaching their destinations.

The Koteshwor-Suryabinayak road wears a deserted look, thanks to the strike. An individual said he had to walk all the way to New Baneshwor from Bhaktapur due to the shutdown. In some cases, rickshaws ferried people to their destinations.
