Salyan, June 15
Police on Wednesday arrested Lokpal KC ‘Mahendra’, joint-secretary of the Biplav-led CPN-Maoist, on the charge of attacking NCell towers. KC is also chief of the Salyan chapter of the Maoist party’s People’s Council.
KC is in custody of Luham area police office, deputy superintendent of police Shyam Bahadur Khatri informed.
The Maoist party has condemned police for arresting KC while he was toiling in his fields. In a press release, Dilli Raj Sharma ‘Bishwa’ has demanded KC’s unconditional release.
Maoist cadres have allegedly attacked and caused damage to NCell towers located in Jayatpani, Chhayakshetra and Dangagaun.
On Tuesday, police arrested leader of Biplav-led CPN-Maoist, Govinda Oli ‘Sabin’, on the charge of arson attacks at NCell towers located in Bharatpokhari and Dhikurpokhari of Kaski district. Oli is member of the party’s Kaski district committee. Kaski district police arrested Oli from outside the party’s office at 5 pm on Monday, on the charge of involvement in arson attacks at NCelll towers.
